Dianshan Lake

  • Kunshan, Jiangsu, China
  • Jiangsu Huijin Holding Group

Located in the center of the 'Golden Triangle' between the cities of Shanghai, Suzhou, and Hangzhou, Dianshan Lake is a community of nine islands created by an expanded wetlands area.

Small bridges access luxury villas from a central tree-lined boulevard. Because of the site's flatness and absence of trees, landscaping played a significant role in creating a sense of place, from the large water colonnade entry gate to the lake edge, moat crossings, and multiple layers of vegetation.

The villas of Dianshan Lake feature full limestone exteriors with carvings, copper gutters, slate roofs, and wood doors and windows. Their large lots accommodate cabanas, pools, and sunken gardens at the basement level, where much of the entertainment occurs with features including an indoor pool, home theater, wine cellar, spa, and lounge.
