Coinciding with Make a Difference Day, an internationally recognized day of volunteerism that is celebrated annually on the fourth Saturday of October, DAHLIN launched its inaugural Day of Service on October 21, 2022. Giving back to our communities has always been part of DAHLIN culture and it is meaningful to us to literally roll-up our sleeves to serve our communities with our people.
How we served our local communities on our 2022 Day of Service:
Pleasanton completed six months of maintenance and repair projects in three hours for Shepherd’s Gate, an affiliate of HomeAid Northern California, which exists to meet the needs of women and children suffering from homelessness, addiction, and domestic violence.
Bellevue assembled over 300 snack and hygiene packs for local Bellevue schools that will be distributed to children lacking sufficient access to these necessities.
Irvine worked with PATH Orange County to assemble Thanksgiving baskets that will ensure 50 families have a festive meal to enjoy.
San Diego put on costumes and staffed PATH San Diego’s annual Halloween event, serving food, and running games and activities, creating fun, and sparking joy for their residents.
Coming together on this Day of Service every year to volunteer with local philanthropies, will become a tradition for our DAHLIN community annually. Together, we can make a difference and have an impact.
