Cerros Manor

  • Menlo Park, California
  • Thomas James Homes

Generational living targets established families working in the technology industry with an attached accessory dwelling unit not available in the Bay Area’s existing housing stock.

Challenged by daylight plane limitations and floor area ratios required by Menlo Park, the challenge of fitting all desired programmatic elements of the Cerros Manor home was a creative puzzle.

In a traditional architectural style, this four-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bath home has an attached ADU complete with its own entrance, kitchenette, full bath, walk-in closet, and separated living and bedroom space. The ADU offers a highly functional and graciously-sized floorplan not available in the existing housing stock with a generous great room and multiple connections to the lanai.

Large flexible space is located at the front of the home suitable for a conventional home office, formal dining, home gym, or den. A butler’s pantry can be reimagined as a pocket office. A large primary suite and primary bath with soaking tub overlooking the yard, offers private retreat.
