Selo of Pastoria is a mixed-use, infill community offering graciously-sized plans for families seeking to live in a Sunnyvale neighborhood off of El Camino, a major commercial corridor. The large open floorplans of these apartment homes also support the needs of families with the benefit of assigned onsite storage, great for camping, recreational equipment, and holiday decor. A sophisticated, contemporary architectural style on the commercial fronting side, is softened as it approaches the adjacent neighborhood. A central courtyard features a glass-enclosed gym with the latest equipment and ground floor retail offers the convenience of two restaurants.
While the City of Sunnyvale very much wanted to maximize density on this infill site adjacent to city hall along the El Camino corridor, the neighborhood of adjacent single-story, single-family detached homes were vocally opposed. This was addressed by focusing a sophisticated multifamily architectural style onto the elevation fronting the major commercial corridor while giving the elevation facing the existing neighborhood a softer character. Additionally, a row of two-story duplexes were added as a transitional density in between the multifamily building and the existing neighborhood.
