Situated on a former cement factory site from the early 1900s, the Watson Ranch Specific Plan redevelops the massive factory 'ruins’ as character to a new mixed-use town center.

The reuse of these existing ruins will preserve and offer architectural identity, creating a unique sense of place alongside features including a 200-room boutique hotel, wine tasting and events center, and quarry lake park. Residential neighborhoods will surround and connect into town center activities to create the charms of a quaint village.

Though challenging, the community of American Canyon considers the site as their new town center with the opportunity of creating a lively, community core centered amidst a beautiful set of defining historic structures. The specific plan balances the community’s needs by providing a comprehensive set of design guidelines and development standards that guide future development of the Watson Ranch Specific Plan Area, based on an extensive, engaging and successful public outreach process. The form-based guidelines allow for phased development over a period of time, without compromising the community quality.
